Antarctica is the southernmost continent.  It is covered in a thick layer of ice and is surrounded by the Southern Ocean.  Antarctica is the world's coldest, driest, and windiest continent.  It is actually considered a desert because of how little precipitation it gets.  The South Pole is located on Antarctica.
